Yacht Charters

Skippered Sailing Vacations

The middle ground between bareboat and a full crewed charter — a professional skipper on board, but the holiday is yours to shape.

A skippered charter gives you the freedom of a bareboat with none of the responsibility. Your skipper handles navigation, anchoring, clearance between islands and the local knowledge — you decide what each day looks like and take part in as much or as little of the sailing as you like.

On a bareboat charter you run the yacht yourself. On a luxury crewed charter a captain, chef and (often) hostess take care of everything. Skippered sits in between.

Frequently asked

Who is a skippered charter for?+

Guests without a sailing qualification who still want a private yacht; qualified skippers who'd rather hand over the responsibility; or anyone new to the Grenadines who wants a local at the helm.

How is it different from a crewed charter?+

A skippered charter is captain-only — you self-cater or pre-arrange provisioning. A luxury crewed charter adds a chef and (usually) a hostess and is fully catered on board.

Can we sail the yacht ourselves?+

Absolutely. The skipper is happy to teach, hand over the helm, or simply supervise. Most groups end the week doing far more of the sailing than they expected.

Where does the skipper sleep?+

Catamarans typically have a dedicated skipper's cabin in a hull or forepeak. On monohulls the skipper uses the forward cabin. Your guest cabins stay private.
