Bequia
The friendly island and the gateway to the Grenadines
Bequia is the largest of the Grenadines and the natural first stop on any charter heading south from St Vincent. Admiralty Bay is one of the Caribbean's most beloved anchorages, lined with palm-fringed beaches, a working waterfront, and small bars and restaurants you can dinghy ashore to in five minutes.
Admiralty Bay has a wonderful lively atmosphere with an excellent fruit and vegetable market — the blowing of a conch shell announces fresh fish on the dock. Laundry, garbage, water and ice are available on the quay. Friendship Bay is a beautiful and quieter alternative. Take an island tour to the Salt Plantation and heritage museum, try the rum punch, go hiking, or explore the local arts, crafts and museums.
